Making Sense of your Child‛s Friendships by Elizabeth Hartley-Brewer

I was very interested to read this book, having a son and a daughter with very different characters. I've watched their developing friendships with other children and often been surprised at the differences between them. The chapter I particularly found interesting was ‛Boys and Girls Friendship Patterns' - what boys say about girls and girls about boys was very enlightening and funny at the same time. On reading excerpts to my 10 and 8 year old, they confirmed the book was ‛spot on'.

This book explains how your child's friendships don't always go as parents would like, but it had some helpful tips on what to do - whether to get involved or not.

I would recommend reading this book when your child is a toddler onwards so that you are prepared for the changes that happen in their friendships throughout their early life and being at school.
