A new face of Butlins will be revealed in August with exciting developments at the massive Butlins Resort in Bognor Regis.

The chic, contemporary Ocean Hotel, complete with spa, will open, for a start, aimed at families and couples and offering accommodation a far cry in standard from the traditional ‛holiday camp' image.

But families with very young children don't have to wait till August; the resort's existing Shoreline Hotel, again, a step up from the traditional accommodation, has launched a range of new attractions for toddlers.

Billy Bear, the Butlins mascot, now has his own bedroom in the hotel, which children can visit. Billy's room has all the items a big bear needs - giant clothes and slippers, framed photos with some well-known faces, and a giant guitar and iPod to keep him entertained. Tots and toddlers will be able to enjoy bedtime stories in Billy's new interactive bedroom and an individual greeting and hug will make every child feel welcome. A cuckoo clock will announce storytime and children can settle down on comfy cushions to enjoy a fairytale in this magical room, lit by twinkling stars. Billy will also host character breakfasts along with Bob the Builder.

Meals at Shoreline are taken in the new Southcoast Family Bar and Grill, a bright, American-style diner offering fajitas, steaks, salads, sharing platters and delicious desserts. The restaurant also offers additional entertainment including balloon modelling and birthday sing-a-longs.

Accommodation at the hotel includes a separate children's den in the bedrooms featuring junior bunk beds (or cots) and their own TV and DVD player showing channels such as Cartoon Network, Boomerang and CBeebies.

Family-friendly activities offered throughout the resort include Angelina Ballerina's Dance Class, Pingu's Chill Zone Bedtime Story and Splash Waterworld.
