Can't eat / don't eat because they are too bunged up

My daughter has had terrible colds since she first went to nursery - at 5 months! (Bit too young looking back!) Since then she has suffered with cold after cold and a generally permanent state of being bungged up! It now really effects her eating as she can't eat and breath at the same time and I would also imagine that she can't taste anything. She also snores A LOT. I am thinking of going to see a specialist, has anyone else experienced anything like this, and if so what did you do?

The Snot Club

Hi Victoria, welcome to the snot club. dd1 is 3 now and still seems to get a cold every 6 weeks (since she was about 6 months and started mixing with other kids in groups). The persistant train tracks of green slime emerging from both my childrens noses is a depressing (but I fear normal) state of affairs for most parents. Sorry thats not very helpful! Regular steam sessions in the bathroom with door shut might help. Yellow pages under the top end feet of the cot to help with snoring (this technique will not work if your dd is a persistent wriggler and will und up upside down regardless of where you put her) I think mothercare sell some vile looking contraption for sucking the snot out of your kids nose if you are a very loving and devoted parent! I fear if you go and see your GP about it they will just say 'it's normal', but definately go if you are concerned.
