Child Benefit

Hi All Can anyone remember how long after their baby was born they filled out their forms for Child Benefit? I'm working on a research project for my college course and now that my little one is 18 months old, I've completely forgotten what happens and when!!

Ithink that I also had the form in the Bounty Pack BUT here is the link to get directly to the form on line - I took it from the Taxes and Benefits section under the Directory listing...Good Luck! http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/ch2.pdf

When I registered the name

Hi. When my daughter was born there was a Child Benefit claim form in the Bounty pack that I took home from the hospital. I filled that in straight away, and I sent it off as soon as I registered her name which was about a week later. I'm sure you can download the form as well but you need to send baby's birth certificate off with it as well so it depends how quick you are getting to the register office.
