Cut one feed at a time
Hi, well done on having breastfed. I found that when I decided to stop breastfeeding, the best way was to do it gradually. By cutting out one feed every few days and replacing it with a bottle, it didn't hurt at all and my body got the point that it didn't need to produce as much milk. After a few weeks my breasts dried up and that was it. I didn't fancy going 'cold turkey' simply due to how painful it might be! Good luck.

Try massaging
Hi Michelle Hmmm, as the previous post said, it is best to drop the feeds slowly, your breasts will feel engorged, but I found that expressing a tiny amount by hand to release the pressure soon sorted that out. I feel to avoid engorgement and mastitis you should massage the breasts working your knuckles from the nipple outwards to alliviate any lumps and bumps that might occur. Well done for persisting in breastfeeding.
