What can i eat during pregnancy?
Hi, Does anyone have a reliable source for a list of foods that are safe to eat during pregnancy. I am now in my second trimester and continue to be given conflicting advice from everyone that has an opinion!! Thanks, Lu

No cooked Meats
Itotally agree! The list seems to get longer with each pregnancy. This time I have been advised not to eat cooked meats - sliced ham etc as well. What a lunch killer! What I'm not clear on really is, are the foods absolutely no-nos or can you eat them if well cooked eg prawns or stilton? I don't want to take any unnecessary risks but it does seem like you can get quite fanatical about avoiding any derivatives!

Try Mumknowbsest Nutritional Pages
Iagree it is so confusing! I avoided things like pate for the Vitamin A, unpasturised cheese, shellfish, peanuts and pre-bagged salad which, apparently because it is pre-washed can contain harmful bacteria leading to food poisoning - also because of the way it is often packed it loses lots of vitamins as well. Our Mumknowsbest nutrionist Rachael is going to be doing a list of what you can eat during pregnancy for July - so watch this space!
