HiPP Organic

In recent weeks, there has been continued debate surrounding the nutritional value of organic foods when compared with conventionally produced foods.
Well respected baby food brand, HiPP Organic, is particularly disappointed with the criteria used in a report by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) which failed to address a number of studies indicating the significant difference of organic foods, in addition to the wider benefits that organic farming and foods are guaranteed to deliver. HiPP Organic, with over 50 years experience in organic nutrition for babies, strongly believes that an organic diet is extremely beneficial to the development of babies and toddlers who are much more sensitive to harmful pesticides.
One recently published and highly-respected EU-funded study1 concluded that organic crops contain higher values of a range of nutrients including antioxidants and vitamins, compared with non-organic crops.
Organic meat and dairy products were also found to contain higher levels of nutrients including beneficial polyunsaturated fatty acids such as omega-3. The same study also found that that conventionally, non-organically produced foods had higher levels of ‛nutritionally undesirable compounds' such as heavy metals, mycotoxins, pesticide residues and glyco-alkaloids.
Therefore, choosing to wean babies organically will reduce their exposure to harmful toxins, giving them the best start whilst they are in an early stage of development.
HiPP Organic offers a wide range of products encompassing baby milk, foods, snacks and drinks all approved with the Soil Association Certification. For further details, please visit HiPP Organic
