Leisure Centre Creches

As more and more parents head to the gym to keep fit and to relax, so the demand for on-site crèches is also rising. The benefits of being able to take your children along with you and to know that they are being well looked after as you sweat away on the machines is invaluable.
However, there are a few factors that should be looked at before you allow your kids loose in the leisure centre crèche.
The first consideration is the general setup of the crèche such as how many staff work there and whether the staff are fully trained in looking after children. Even though you may only use a crèche occasionally, treat it in the same way as any other childcare option. Are you happy with the facilities, staff and atmosphere. Have a proper look round and settle your children in over a period of time.
Many leisure centres are operating their crèches on a near full time basis. These should be Ofsted registered. Even if children stay for less than 2 hours at a time, the crèche should still be registered.
Don't be afraid to ask the staff questions. Ask to speak to the manager and get an idea of what the children will be doing - even if they are only there for a short period of time they will get bored if they are not stimulated.. You will probably have to supply snacks and drinks - if they want more than just water. Make sure everything is clearly labelled with your child's name.
What better incentive is there to get fit than by having a well earned break from your children!
