We all know new year's resolutions are made to be broken but one that I believe is well worth making sure you don't ‛chicken out' from is the promise to boycott cheap, intensively reared chicken in favour of free range or organic instead.

Those of you that saw Hugh Fearnley Whittingstalls ‛Chicken Run' programmes aired on Channel 4 on the 7th, 8th and 9th of this month will now be acutely aware of the appalling conditions most chickens within this country are reared in.
