Poor Children's Diet

According to a recent report by the food commission there is a growing body of evidence that children in the UK are suffering the effects of eating a diet which contains low levels of essential nutrients but high levels of fat, sugar and salt.

Government research shows that one quarter of 16-year-olds are now overweight and more than half of children aged 1 to 10 have tooth decay. A poor childhood diet can have serious implications in later life, such as higher levels of diabetes, stroke, heart disease and diet-related cancers.
